We have all seen the lists with the most popular local restaurants and although they are AMAZING, we wanted to shine the spotlight on some of the underrated spots that are putting the Indianapolis area on the culinary map.

Grindstone On the Monon

Why we love it: Located in Westfield IN, right off the Monon trail and only a stone’s throw from Grand Park, their location couldn’t be more ideal for North-siders. It gives warehouse-chic vibes along with a seasonally rotating menu while keeping cult favorites such as the Chicken & Noodles and Hoosier Hot Plate. They do a phenomenal job highlighting the rich flavors and traditions of American cuisine by incorporating locally sourced meats and vegetables, fresh pasta, and smoked meats. Why we love It: Stationed in the heart of Broad Ripple Village is an awesome BBQ joint serving up authentic Texas-style BBQ in a welcoming family-friendly setting. This joint can compete with the big guns of BBQ with their quality hardwood smoked meats and equally delicious scratch sides. The Brasserie at Kan-Kan

Why we love it: Nestled in the Windsor Park neighborhood, in an arthouse cinema, is a hidden gem. It’s no surprise this farm-to-table restaurant is so incredible as Abbi Merriss, James Beard-nominated chef, is leading this all-star cast! Featuring fresh and locally raised meats, this European-inspired menu effortlessly blends the eclectic international flavors with the comforting mainstays of the Midwest. Why we love it: Attention all pizza snobs & casual pie-lovers alike: We have found THE best pizza in Indy! Owners Brian & Alexis are serving up unique international-inspired pizzas baked to perfection with ingredients that are a step above. Don’t get us started on the wings, wing bites, and all the dipping sauces. Let’s not forget the hand-picked single-barrel whiskey selections straight from Kentucky. Seriously, we could go on and on.
